Orbital prostheses

It may be a temporary solution and may be mounted on a removable frame or fixed with adhesive, but the surest and most practical way of holding it in place is via bone-mounted fixtures and magnets. Our orbital prostheses not only restore the eye (made of glass or resin, painted by an ocularist) and eyelids, but also the patient’s look and expression. It must blend into the shape of the face and reproduce the texture, wrinkles and skin colors. It is finished off with eyelashes and sometimes an eyebrow.

Indications:

-        following trauma (accident or burn injury)

-        after surgery (tumor resection or another disorder).

Each orbital prosthesis is presented on a model of the patient printed in 3-D once the final touches have been added and before delivering it to the patient. Each patient has a unique expression and skin colour.
